There is an extraction that is happening in your life right now.  This extraction is all about what is most essential for what you need as you step forward on your journey.  

For what one is able to do for another is not a measure of the capability of one’s own worth, but of the resonance that can be brought forth as an intersection with the stronghold that remains in place in the other as a mechanism of protection.  To pour your heart into something is never done with the desire to please another or protect yourself.  The pouring of the heart comes through the softening.  The strength and grace of one’s character is what can be perceived when there is no stronghold on the heart.  The dissolution allows for distillation.  Beauty arises through the flow of grace within the heart, otherwise it is only seen as static and resembles the disconnect that is felt within.  Softness is a malleable quality that can blend together, creating and co-creating greater harmony.

Sick and tired of pretense and hype, hungry to get down to basics, and somewhat hooked on the quantitative intelligence. Blurring distinctions. Intent upon being viable, correct, and self-sufficient. If all these things are taken up with a twinkle of humor, they are digestible. But if they become self-serious and a little too proper, they are deadly and sickening. You learn to throw off the attitude and to cleave to the substance of getting things right, unapologetically and steadfastly.

You are aware of the great accumulation of feeling that has happened over time, as well as the need to unburden ourselves from this. Focusing on, honouring and supporting the possibility for removal of all that is blocking our ability to become aware of the inherent ‘weakness’ of our supports allows us to come to know how to rebuild and strengthen them, or to recognize the weakness as fuel for locating the strength within. A sense of lack and difficulty can lead us to deeper realizations of all that we have. Clearly assessing what we have we eventually go beyond the satisfaction of mere ownership and find ways of using what we posses to restore our power in a real way.

It is so hard to give up your fondest notions. It is so testing and trying to be asked by universal spirit to surrender your privileges, to renounce your claim upon your own life. And it is even an extreme act of self-transcendence to come to terms with the position you find yourself in as it really is. Ego-busting comes as a rude shock, even when the time is at hand to leap beyond your own shadow. The very idea draws out to the surface every resistance imaginable. The mind goes crazy with this edge. If only you could control it, manipulate it, relativize it. But excruciating self-awareness accompanies this edge--in particular no sentimentality towards your own excuses and reasons. For you are at that point where there is no place to hide and nothing to do except surrender gracefully, when you have exhausted every other option and found them to be null and void.

The type of security we seek in life is a reflection of our fears and the pain we have suffered. You’re aware of personality distortions caused by traumas of the past and unresolved karmas. You know that simple, loving awareness of these can actually clear them over time. Constancy and gentleness are required to insure the continuance and completion of the process. This degree serves a purpose informing us of the instability of our foundation, and of how it can be righted to make it into something grounded - something we can depend on and which will foster our evolution. When we take time to stop and look deeply into something we see beyond its normal lineaments into its deepest uniqueness. As we come to perceive the incongruities of our world we come closer to perceiving the hidden forces at work all around us, and the recognition of distortion that impels us to take care of those precious things we have so that their power is reinforced in a meaningful, balanced way.
